'Charlie Lips Watson'
Jazz in Motion
A "Funky, Colourful and Passionate Portrait" capturing the very essence of a master of the saxophone.

Wilson chose to work on a Jazz series and to include Charlie Lips Watson as one of the studies on the absolute passion and depth of musical expression. The process of feeling his every controlled breath and interpretation of well known jazz standards gave Wilson a deeper appreciation of Charlie's artful and musical genius. Although Wilson is also accomplished in a broad spectrum of the musical arts, his desire to capture the blood, sweat and tears of a fellow musician, has resulted in this whimsical yet studied portrait. There is a great depth of expression in this painting and, although still in WILSON's private collection, and has been enjoyed privately for a few years, the painting may soon be released for sale or at a major art auction. Likewise with Wilson's 'Bueno Vista Social Club' ... inspired by Ry Cooder's documentary of these wonderful musicians.
